Okay, so the 2004 standard bearer gives a boost to a 2008 front runner. Hmmm. In 2004, the 2000 standard bearer (Gore) endorsed the 2004 front runner (Dean), and it was downhill for Howard from there.

Someone pointed out somewhere that it's Kerry's lists that matter the most. He's got the national list (donors, email addresses, etc.) from 2004, when more D's showed up to the polls than ever before.
Additionally, it's funny that in 2004 a Gore endorsement was laughed at by the pundits, but all they can gossip about is who he will/would endorse in 2008. I see it unlikely that Gore endorses anyone with his new status (Oscar...and I guess Nobel), since he's earned the right to be above this crap.
